Samantha first met Nero, an incredible miniature Schnauzer, when she was staying with her friend, Jean, in California. Samantha immediately took to Nero, and he kept her company for the two weeks, curling up on her lap and teaching her to play frisbee. In fact, Nero looked after Samantha so well that she didn’t miss Mister Mishkins as much as normal. With that in mind, she declared Nero to be a Hero – and decided to not only write him into The Magic of Mister Mishkins, but for Nero to then have is own spin-off series. Thus, Nero the Hero was born.
